Worlds Largest Zeppelin In Our Skies

The world largest Zeppelin is at the Marana Northwest Regional Airport.  At least it is there for today and hopefully a couple more days as well.  I have a feeling the high winds will be keeping it grounded today.  It is on its way to Moffett Field in Mountain View California.  It will be used there for tours of Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

Zeppelin Long Than 747

Zeppelin Long Than 747

The Zeppelin is 246 feet long and the first to fly in the United States since the 1937 Hindenburg disaster in New Jersey.  The Zeppelin is longer than a Boeing 747 and 50 feet longer than the Goodyear Blimp.

It won’t be around here for long.  I hope you get a chance to see it before it moves on to California.  Amazing what kinds of things are in Tucson and pass through here on the way to some place else.
