Oro Valley Holiday Parade 2007

Oro Valley Holiday ParadeThe third annual Oro Valley Holiday Parade is this Saturday December 8, 2007. The parade starts at 10 am. It begins at Ironwood Ridge High School on Naranja and finishes at City Hall. There will be some famous personalities in the parade. Santa Claus being the most recognized and Dan Marries of KOLD New 13 will serve as emcee.

Never wanting to miss a parade opportunity we will see members of the Oro Valley Town Council but I don’t think there will be a dunking tank nor will the catching of projectiles fruit or vegetables be considered proper parade etiquette. So thow some smiles and wave some hands (in a friendly gesture).

They will be joined by so not so well known politicians Gabrielle Giffords, Lena Sardnik, Pete Hershberger, and Ann Day. Is this an election year? There will be 14 floats, Firetrucks, and The Southern Arizona Corvette Club will be driving . . . well they won’t be driving Yugo’s. Let’s not forget the Marching Bands. No parade is complete without a marching band.

Bring your lawn chairs for the route and head down to City Hall and the Oro Valley Farmer’s Market to visit with friends and hear live entertainment.

For those not interested in a Parade, be mindful you will have to plan another route for trips down Naranja, between Ironwood Ridge High School and along La Cholla at Naranja and La Canada at Naranja between 10 and 11 am Saturday morning.

You can always just go to the Oro Valley Farmer’s Market when it opens at 9 AM. and enjoy the atmosphere and some goodies along with some great coffee and wait for the parade and Santa to come to you.

I hope it isn’t raining.
